Great Starts and Great Finishes.
The Myrtle Beach Marathon is running back into town on February 11th – 14th, 2010. A time honored and welcomed event in Myrtle Beach; the Myrtle Beach Marathon brings in runners from all points of the south. The BI-LO Myrtle Beach Marathon supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of South Carolina and the Horry County Chapter of the American Red Cross . Since its first year in 1998 the Myrtle Beach Marathon has assisted the charities in raising over $500,000.
The marathon kicks off with an expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on February 11th, 2010. Hours of the Expo are 5pm – 9pm on the 11th and 11am – 9pm on the 12th. Both Expo dates are free and open to the public. Current sponsors are Bi-Lo, Dasani, Michelob Ultra, RBC Bank, Ripley’s Aqauirium, House of Blues, Chick-fil-A; as well as many more.
The Fun Run, which is a 5K distance, will take place on February 12th, 2010, at 5:30pm. The start and finish point will be at Celebrity Sqaure, adjacent to Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway At The Beach.
