Crystal Therapy

What is Crystal Therapy?
Crystal Therapy is the belief that certain crystals and other charm-stones have healing, mystical and/or paranormal powers.

Crystal healers claim that every living organism has a “vibrational energy system,” which includes chakras, electromagnetic fields around your body known as an aura, subtle bodies and meridians. By using the appropriate crystals one can allegedly “tune” an energy system or rebalance energies, thus improving well-being due to the vibrations produced by the crystals, according to color, chemical composition, atomic structure and overall physical form. Using the vibrations of the crystals a trained practitioner can allegedly move, absorb, focus, direct and diffuse energy within the body, using the perfect structure of the crystal for the body to emulate. Crystal healing also allegedly gives the body a chance to relax, which may aid in the body’s natural abilities of the immune system.

The earliest records of crystal healing come from ancient Egypt. The Ebers papyrus states the medicinal uses of many different gems. Healing with crystals is also recorded in India’s Ayurvedic records and in traditional Chinese medicine from around five thousand years ago.

Boardwalk Plans in Myrtle Beach

The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce is planning an event to promote the construction of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.  On September 25th – 26th, there will be live music and other activities in order to show tourists and travel writers that the boardwalk project will actually continue.  Although many of the details are still up in the air, the Myrtle Beach City council gave the nod to this exciting event.

City officials have been talked about the project for years, but financial obligations have dampened every attempt.  Recently Myrtle Beach has implemented a 1% Tourism Sales tax increase in order to fund the Boardwalk Project.  When the chatter about the construction came into play, the estimated price was $12 million, however the bids on the new attraction in Myrtle Beach came in lower than expected.  The new estimates show a price tag of $5.9 million.

A ground breaking ceremony is set for September 8, 2009 and construction will begin there after.  The new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will run from First Avenue to 14th Avenue North.  The project has all the required environmental permits from the Office of Coastal Resource Management and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, so it a good sign that next summer visitors will have another exciting adventure to squeeze into their vacation along the Grand Strand.

It presents a whole range of new opportunities for downtown and for the city.” Sebok said.
