This is the 27th year for this event and it is the oldest continuous running event in Horry County.  Both races start and finish on Main Street.  The races cover portions of Ocean Blvd., Hillside Dr., Main St. and other side streets of North Myrtle Beach.

St. Patrick’s 5K and 10K Road Race
This is a 5K and 10K road race held on the roads in Barefoot Landing.  Both courses are certified by USA Track and Field.

South Carolina is loaded with Urban Legends; with Myrtle Beach and Charleston being the two most haunted cities.

One of the most haunted places in the area is a warehouse in Downtown Conway, some say was built in the 1890’s.  It is considered by many to be the areas only true haunted attraction.  This warehouse has even been visited by The Ghost Hunters to research the Paranormal Activity found inside the old building.

Be prepared to venture into this dark and haunted warehouse. You will be taken on a tour of the building, where anything can happen.  Open October 27th through October 31st from 7pm to 11pm, this is a must do while on vacation in Myrtle Beach for Halloween.  There is small admission fee of $10.oo per person, with the precedes benefiting charitable causes such as:

Fostering Hope Inc., a non profit organization that provides goods and services to children residing in foster carem in the local area.

• North Myrtle Beach hosts Howl-O-Scream 2009 at McLean Park from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31 featuring trick-or-treating, hay rides, spooktacular music, pumpkin painting, marshmallow roasting, ghoulish games and inflatables. Free. 280-5570.

• The Market Common, Myrtle Beach, hosts a haunted house next to P.F. Chang’s from 7-10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31. $13. 839-3500.
• Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach, offers trick or treating from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31 with free trick-or-treat bags for children. The adult Halloween costume party and contest begins at 8 p.m. in Celebrity Square. 444-3200.
• The Market Common, Myrtle Beach hosts Halloween at the Market Common from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 31 featuring a Halloween Kid-Zone that includes inflatables and DJ Batman in Valor Park. The $10 all-you-can-jump wristband includes inflatables, free kids meals and treats with adult purchase at participating restaurants and stores. 839-3500.
• The Waccamaw Youth Center hosts Haunted Hollywood by the River from 8-11 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Waccamaw Shrine Club, downtown Conway. The event features a DJ, open bar and food. Come dressed in costume. Tickets are $50. 369-0200.
• Thriller, a Halloween party benefiting the Autism Advocate Foundation, will be from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 24 at Club 2001, 920 Lake Arrowhead Road, Myrtle Beach. 213-0217. The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction raffles and music by Soul Function. Tickets are $20.
